"Moon and Sea II" - Arthur Dove,
1923, oil on canvas, 24x18 inches, Curtis Galleries, Inc., founder Myron Kunin
Arthur Dove (1880 - 1946) was an American modern artist who embraced abstract art. His lifelong struggles to manifest his talent and assert himself as an artist bring to mind the quote on the Home page: "Art is the cry of the soul from the core of one's being. Creating and appreciating art set free the joyous soul trapped deep within us. That is why art causes such joy."
