Crystal Cove Cottages - Oblivious

This is one of my favorite photos. It's a shot of my friend, John Cosby, a nationally known artist who often paints at that spot at Crystal Cove. I call it "Oblivious" because John is so absorbed into his work that he appears to be oblivious to the beauty surrounding him. But of course, he's not. I shot this from a cliff high above the setting, using a long lens. That way, I could divide the image into three sections: the sun-washed beach, the waves breaking on shore, and the pounding surf beyond.
